If a crow flew a mile South West of the pub, it would find itself at the Born in the Borders Brewery, supplier of the lip-smackingly delicious real ales we serve from our handpumps.

Based on a farm where they actually grow the barley they use to make their beer, they are the only plough-to-pint microbrewery in Scotland, overseeing the whole process from the planting of the first barley seeds in the ground to the delivery of the casks to the pub.

That’s the story that has helped them win awards and see their beers distributed UK-wide in both cask and bottle. But they definitely taste better when you drink them a mere mile from where they are made!
